Billing & Financial Aid

Billing

All SLR programs are private pay. Because insurance does not cover SLR’s services, we take great care to keep our costs as low as possible, while still providing the highest quality care. Please see individual pages for each program’s pricing.

Health Insurance

If a resident has private insurance, it can be used for some costs not included in program fees such as medication, outside medical visits, and lab work.

Medicaid/Medicare

Medicaid/Medicare does not cover the cost of residential treatment but can also be applied to the costs of medication, outside medical visits, and lab work. Residents with out-of-state Medicaid will need to work with us to apply for Vermont coverage.

Payment Processes

Invoices are sent on the 25th of each month and payments are due by the 10th of each month. A 1% service charge is added to unpaid balances 45 days after the invoice date. Payments may be made by check, electronic fund transfer, or credit card, but please note there is a credit card processing fee.

Financial Aid

Spring Lake Ranch is pleased to offer financial aid. These funds are made possible by donor support and proceeds from the sale of Ranch-made products such as maple syrup. There are three current funding sources available:

The Sarcka Fund

Named in honor of our founders, this fund exists to support individuals and families who might not otherwise be able to afford our programming.

The Michael Wells Vermont Residency Scholarship Fund

Named in honor of longtime employee and former executive director Michael Wells, this fund supports individuals who live in Vermont and might not otherwise be able to afford our programming.

Justice, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion (JEDI) Fund

JEDI financial aid aims to support individuals from communities who might not have easy access to mental health treatment. It is intended to provide support to residents from historically underserved racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and/or socioeconomic statuses.

Apply for Financial Aid

Residents and families are encouraged to apply for financial aid. To be considered, a completed application, financial disclosure, and letter of request citing the need for assistance must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of the month when aid may begin. Current residents are welcome to apply with the same three-week lead time. Our Admissions team is available to assist with this process and answer any additional questions you may have about funding.
