Directions and Where to Stay

Directions to Spring Lake Ranch

From the West via New York State Thruway I-87

  • Travel North on the New York State Thruway, Route I-87 to Exit 20
  • Turn left at end of exit ramp on to Route 9.
  • Take the next right on to Route 149 toward Rutland, VT.
  • At Fort Anne, NY, take Route 4, East
  • Follow Route 4 into Vermont until it ends at Route 7.
  • Exit on the right for Route 7 South
  • Take Route 7 South approximately 3-4 miles to Route 103 South, a left turn.
  • Take Route 103 South for approximately 4-5 miles; You will cross 2 sets of railroad tracks and a bridge over the Mill River. Spring Lake Road is a dirt road directly after the bridge; turn right. If you come to the Spring Lake Ranch Farm Stand, you have gone too far; turn around.
  • The Ranch is about 1 mile straight up the road; do not veer left part way up. You will pass a hay barn and fields on your right. Continue up the road until you reach the Ranch complex: there will be a tennis court on your left, and numerous buildings. The Admissions office is in the Main House, the large red building on your left. Visitor parking is available on the right side of the road.

From the South via I-91

  • Take Interstate 91 North to Vermont
  • Get off at Exit 6, Rockingham
  • Turn left at the exit ramp on to VT Route 103. The Ranch is on Route 103. It will take about 1 hour once you exit the Interstate.
  • **The road takes a sharp right turn as you enter the town of Chester, about 15 minutes after you exit the Interstate. It is marked, but be sure you don’t miss it.**
  • The last town you go through before the Ranch is Ludlow, home of the Okemo ski area. Spring Lake Ranch is about 20 minutes away.
  • You will pass a store on your left called the Olde Barn. This is Cuttingsville. You continue on, and will pass, on your left, the Spring Lake Ranch Farm Stand. The Ranch road is a short distance beyond this, on your left. There is a green road sign that says: Spring Lake Road.
  • The Ranch is about 1 mile straight up the road; do not veer left part way up. You will pass a hay barn and fields on your right. Continue up the road until you reach the Ranch complex: there will be a tennis court on your left, and numerous buildings. The Admissions office is in the Main House, the large red building on your left. Visitor parking is available on the right side of the road.

From the North via Route 7

  • Take Route 7 South through Rutland, VT.
  • Approximately 3-4 miles after you pass through Rutland, you will come to the turn off for Route 103 South. After you pass through Rutland, in approximately 3-4 miles you will come to the turn off for Route 103 South. Turn left on to 103.
  • Take Route 103, South for approximately 4-5 miles; you will cross 2 sets of railroad tracks and a bridge over the Mill River. Spring Lake Road is a dirt road directly after the bridge; there is a green road sign; turn right. [If you come to the Spring Lake Ranch Farm Stand, you have gone too far; turn around].

From the East via I-89 New Hampshire

  • Take NH route I-89 through Lebanon and cross into Vermont.
  • Take exit 1. Turn left off of the exit Ramp on to Route 4 toward Woodstock Vermont.
  • Follow Route 4 for approximately 30 miles to Rutland, VT. Turn left on to route 7 South and continue through Rutland.
  • Approximately 3-4 miles after you pass through Rutland, you will come to the turn off for Route 103 South
  • Take Route 103, South for approximately 4-5 miles; you will cross 2 sets of railroad tracks and a bridge over the Mill River.
