Main House Renovation & Expansion

The expansion of the Main House consists of a three-floor addition to the south side of the building, allowing for the following improvements:

Kitchen & Dining

The undeniable hub of Spring Lake Ranch is the dining room within the Main House. If you’ve ever shared a meal with us, you’ve witnessed the laughter, joy, and warmth of the entire community during meals. The dining area will be enlarged to serve more residents and the industrial kitchen will be upgraded. A fire suppression system will also be added.

People’s Kitchen

This area is an important part of our Therapeutic Work Program. Gardens Crew prepares and processes produce for use in meals, and they prepare desserts and snacks for daily enjoyment. This provides a multi-faceted Gardens Crew experience and teaches skills for independent living and sustainability. Currently, only two to three people can safely work in the People’s Kitchen. The expansion will allow for six to eight staff and residents to work side-by-side and will include an area for cooking lessons.

Staff Housing

The proposed third floor will include two apartments to fulfill an ongoing need for more onsite support staff. Our model of housing staff on the Ranch allows for 24/7 resident support and strengthens our unique community experience.
