The Elliot Transitional Living Program offers a supported, gradual introduction to greater independence. With the help of care coordinators, residents learn and practice daily living skills and begin securing outside support systems.
Vocational Support
With vocational counseling, they’re assisted in obtaining structured productive activities like job placement, volunteering opportunities, and educational pursuits. Our transitions team partners with local farms, businesses, and nonprofits to find the right fit for each resident. This is not a long-term program but rather a transitional one, encouraging residents to build on what they developed in the Ranch Program and prepare for their next steps.
Community Involvement
While in Elliot, residents remain active members of the Ranch community. They’re encouraged to help on crew, join meals, and attend celebrations. At the same time, they spend more time off-campus, allowing them to build new relationships and stretch outside their comfort zones.
Treatment Teams
For continuity of care, Elliot residents retain their Ranch Program advising team, clinician, and prescriber. However, some residents are asked to take increased responsibility by working toward medication independence and managing their own schedules. Care coordinators assist with securing off-site treatment providers before residents discharge from the program.
Housing
Elliot House is just a short walk up the hill from other Ranch housing. Residents enjoy private rooms with a shared kitchen where they can cook their own meals. Group meals and activities are arranged to promote a sense of connection in the house. Residents may use their personal vehicles to travel off-site, if permitted.
Support Services
- Weekly care management and coaching services
- Care coordination with outside providers
- Continuity of care through SLR clinician and prescriber
- Medication oversight with opportunities to become med independent
- Functional side-by-side life skills support (cooking, organization, budgeting, time management, etc.)
- Vocational support to assist with job placement, volunteering opportunities, and educational pursuits
- Monthly family engagement with care manager
- Monthly appointments with SLR nutritionist
- SLR recovery and mental health groups
- Elliot-specific groups and activities in addition to Ranch Program activities
- Access to campus amenities (art studio, gym, lake, etc.)
- Access to Therapeutic Work Program
- Shared kitchen stocked with cooking essentials (groceries are responsibility of resident)
- Access to SLR-prepared meals
- 24/7 clinician on-call support
Program Cost
Spring Lake Ranch is a private-pay facility. Thanks to our donors, we’re able to offer financial aid to those who qualify. We encourage residents and their families to apply.
Our day rate for the Elliot Program is $545 for the first 30 days.
After 30 days, the day rate reduces to $425 with clinical support or $415 without clinical support.
*Appropriateness for the Elliot Program will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Completion of the Ranch Program does not automatically indicate eligibility. Factors that may determine eligibility include but are not limited to a resident’s safety history and substance use history. If it is determined that our transitional programs are not appropriate, Ranch staff will assist in pursuing alternative options.
