Transitional Living Program & Community Center

New Housing and Programming for Long-Term Residents

The proposed Transitional Living Program will meet a long-standing need to bridge the gap between residential care and independent living. With the construction of twelve suites/apartments, we’ll expand our capacity to serve more residents in new ways. We anticipate stronger outcomes for Spring Lake Ranch residents over time.

The program will promote autonomy and the development of independent living skills for residents. With guided support, they’ll do more of their own cooking, cleaning, medication management, personal transportation, budgeting, and other household responsibilities. They’ll also have the time and assistance they need to explore employment and educational opportunities off-site.

Length of stay will range anywhere from three months to several years. About 25% of the new units will be utilized for longer-term stays. While this program will be offered at a lower price point than our traditional Therapeutic Work Program, we expect it to begin generating an operating surplus during its second year of operation.

Gathering Space with Kitchen and Media Center

Community is a core component of Spring Lake Ranch’s approach. Former residents consistently praise our strong focus on communal activities as having made a difference in their lives. With this in mind, our Transitional Living Program expansion wouldn’t be complete without a place to gather.

While the Main House will remain our central gathering and dining space, we’ll build an additional facility within the Transitional Living Program campus to allow for group activities. With capacity for up to 60 people and an industrial kitchen, this spacious hub will provide room for the fun activities, group meetings, and celebrations the Ranch is known for. The Community Center will also include staff offices and a media room so residents can meet with clinicians or teams, learn skills, and search for jobs without leaving the program area.
